Primary Education Programme
 
Overview
Pupils from Primary 1 to 6 follow the mainstream curriculum. However, they are exempted from Second Language. They sit for their P4 Streaming Examination and the Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE).

Upon completion of the PSLE, the children would move on to secondary schools or VSH (Vocational School for the Handicapped) and would have acquired sufficient auditory and spoken language to cope in the mainstream classes. Pupils who are unable to sit for PSLE due to other learning difficulties will join the VSH.

They attend the regular secondary schools such as - St. Joseph’s Institution, Montfort Secondary School, Assumption English School, and St. Anthony’s Canossian Secondary School.

However parents can opt for other secondary schools of their choice.They study alongside their hearing peers and are also exempted from second language.

 
Academic Subjects
English Language
The aim is to develop the pupils of CSH into competent users of the English Language who are able to express themselves confidently and independently in speech and writing and to be active members of society. Teachers use a variety of teaching strategies and teaching aids to enhance the learning of the subject. The enrichment programmes continue to offer pupils experential learning that extend beyond the classroom.

Mathematics
Pupils acquire and apply skills and knowledge in Mathematical situations in their daily life. CSH teach Mathematical concepts using various concrete materials and hands-on activities.
 
Science

Our School aims to maximize the potential of our pupils through various activities and programmes planned. The various hands-on activities and outings provide the pupils with the necessary experiences to stimulate their curiosity and awareness in the environment and appreciate the wonders of Science.

Art and Craft
Through art and craft pupils are given the opportunity to explore and be creative. It develops the pupils' awareness and skills in observing and responding to visual aspects of the natural and man-made world. Thus developing their aesthetic appreciation.

Pupils are also encouraged to participate in art and craft competitions. With interest and confidence in their creativity, a number of our pupils have been awarded prizes in the art competition.

Physical Education
It involves all pupils in a variety of gross motor, fine motor and coordination exercises, that increase skill, resilience, endurance and teaches them the value of teamwork.

Its vision for CSH is to provide a community of creative, independent and life-long learners who are empowered with technology tools.

In IT Department, it is committed to achieve its goals below:

i) To equip pupils with the necessary IT skills in a supportive and stimulating IT enriched school culture so that they can confidently meet the challenges of an ever-changing global environment.

ii)To equip pupils with the necessary IT knowledge, skills and values for their effective functioning in a rapidly changing technological world.

iii) To develop and maintain IT competencies of teachers.
